Art Direction & AI Image Generation
Acumen Music came to me with an artist they represented named Schenk, who specialized in Alternative Rock. They needed an album cover for his latest release, I Can’t Talk About It. The artwork needed to be dark and moody. If you know anything about my photography, emo work is my jam. But my client didn’t have the budget to do a photo shoot. AI imagery was in order.
BEFORE
Bear with the pixelation; it’s zoomed in at 600%. I created the overall image in Midjourney and finessed it in Photoshop using their AI Generative Fill tool. I fixed it by filling in the subject’s hair and shrinking down their head.
AFTER
The subject’s head looks cleaner and more proportionate. And the prompt? “Man in suit standing in birch forest with cloth tied around mouth and trees. Golden Hour.”

My client was impressed with the final artwork. I could’ve used any of the above images, but I felt the chosen one in the forest was unique. I loved the surreal quality of it, and it summed up the album’s title perfectly.
